All licensees and staff (i.e. serving staff, security personnel including crowd controllers and bouncers and RSA marshals) working in licensed venues in the Sydney CBD Entertainment precinct must have a valid RSA Photo Competency Card or Interim Certificate from 1 October 2014 onwards. Old style paper RSA certificates (i.e. any certificate issued before 22 August 2011) are no longer valid in the Sydney CBD Entertainment precinct after 30 September 2014. These requirements are part of the special conditions applying to licensed venues in the Sydney CBD precinct to increase safety and reduce the risk of alcohol-related violence.
