Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG) certificates are being phased out following the introduction of the photo Competency Cards in New South Wales.
RSA and RCG certificates issued prior to 2001 expire under new laws. As of 1 July 2012 these certificates are no longer valid evidence of training competency. Anyone with an RSA or RCG certificate, including licensees, should check immediately to determine when their certificates expire. RSA and RCG paper certificate holders need to complete a new course with an approved NSW RSA or RCG training provider and apply for a photo Competency Card prior to the expiry of their paper certificate.
Holders of expired paper certificates can be fined by NSW Police or the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) inspectors.
