We are pleased to announce that the Board of the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority has granted the Application by Greaton Ribbon Management Pty Limited for a hotel licence in the heart of Darling Harbour. The Hotel will form part of the Ribbon Building, that has been described as one of Sydney’s most striking architectural developments. The Hotel Licence is endorsed with an extended trading authorisation and a minors area authorisation. The Application required the preparation and filing with the Authority of a detailed and thorough Category B Community Impact Statement. The evidence we submitted to the Authority through this Statement assisted the Application to be approved.
The Hotel will be a luxury “6-star” tourist accommodation venue to be operated by W Hotels Worldwide as part of the Marriott International Group and is set to open on 12 October 2023. It will trade under the name “W Sydney”. Guests will also be able to take advantage of all the incredible facilities to be provided including a two-storey rooftop bar, Level 29 Wet Deck with heated infinity swimming pool and day spa.
