When do I need to complete Licensee Training?

From 1 July 2021 licensee training must be completed for club secretaries and most licensees and approved managers prior to the granting of a new liquor licence. 

From 25 July 2021 licensee training must be completed for club secretaries and most licensees and approved managers prior to the lodgement of a new liquor licence application.

However, the position has not changed for a transfer of liquor licence Application.  If you apply for a liquor licence transfer you need to complete Licensee training and/or Advanced Licensee training (as the case may be) within 60 days from receiving provisional approval.

For individuals who seek to be appointed the approved manager of a licensed premises (or for a club secretary), if you apply to be appointed as an approved manager (or a club secretary), then you must complete Licensee training and/or Advanced Licensee training (as the case may be) within 60 days of the application being lodged.
