Harem Gentlemen's Club

BSV has successfully obtained the desired variations to the on-premises licence for the Harem Gentleman’s Club.  This includes the now approved extended trading authorisation, that permits the popular club to trade until 4:00am each day.

This application required significant work and evidence in order to overcome the obstacles set out in Guideline 18 issued by the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming that created a “rebuttable presumption” against the grant of the extended trading authorisation, due to the location of the iconic premises in the Kings Cross Precinct.  Being a busy entertainment precinct, such locations require careful management due to the high concentrations of licensed premises and the associated potential risks of alcohol-related problems.

The BSV team navigated the application process, preparing a well-researched Category B Community Impact Statement that was successful in allowing the Harem Gentlemen’s Club and their patrons to enjoy longer trading hours.   As part of the approval process, the BSV team also made an application to the NSW Liquor and Gaming for an exemption from a precinct related special licence condition with the assistance of an external expert town planning consultant.  That application was also approved by the NSW Liquor and Gaming.
