Dan Murphy’s Cellar, Martin Place, Sydney

Endeavour Group (Endeavour) instructed BSV’s licensing team to assist them in the removal of an existing packaged liquor licence into the heart of the Sydney CBD.   The proposal relates to the first of its type bottle shop - being the Dan Murphy’s Cellar brand- now open in Martin Place. The store is a boutique, premium wine store targeted towards wine enthusiasts, with a focus on customer-experience, complementary to the building’s heritage and surroundings.  It is distinctively different to a typical Dan Murphy’s store, except for the same level of commitment to provide a high level of customer service or satisfaction and customer knowledge in liquor products.  The store has a central area where customers can have special “moments” such as product tastings and on-demand micro-classes, hosted by in-store product experts.

BSV’s licensing team prepared a very detailed Category B Community Impact Statement that considered the risk factors of operating in this location, which was accepted by the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority on the grant of the Application.   We are very pleased and proud to have secured approval for this fresh concept store in a sensitive location in the heart of the Sydney CBD for our client.  To find your nearest Dan Murphy’s store, please click here.
